About Meals by Design & Head Chef/Owner Bruce Linden

Meals by Design evolved from Linden's interest in developing healthy meals with dietitians and other health professionals. The program places importance on making available the freshest food which is as kind to clients' hearts as it is delicious to the palate. Clients feel like they are taking care of themselves without all the fuss and bother of shopping and preparing during a busy work week.

When Bruce Linden, based in Syosset, Long Island talks about the years he spent travelling and living abroad, it's not with stories. Nor is it with slides or photographs.

Linden's expression for making other cultures come alive is his own kitchen. There he produces a tempting variety of foods with an international flair - recipes taught him by his hosts abroad, dishes from chefs from around the world, or sometimes creating his own. This creativity is reflected in the varied menus for Meals by Design and Linden's catering through The Elegant Chef.

In each case, his style tastefully reflects the gourmet culinary influences of many ethnic groups. On any given day one finds Linden happily exploring trendy food boutiques and ethnic markets in the tri-state area to find the freshest and most exotic ingredients. In his kitchen he creatively blends rich and extensive culinary traditions from East and West in the creation of innovative delectable menus he has become known for.

Linden's friends were not surprised when, seeking a change from the corporate world where he worked for the last decade, he decided to establish The Elegant Chef, a catering business dedicated to providing corporate clients and private society parties with food that is as interesting culturally as it is gastronomically.
